Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, is excited to announce the official opening of its newest EV Power charging hub on Marlborough Road, Swindon (SN3 1NP).
As part of MFG’s commitment to leading the UK’s shift towards cleaner, greener transportation, the company is investing over £400 million into its EV charging network. MFG is currently installing around 20 charging bays per week, with an ambition to deploy approximately 3,000 charging bays in the coming years.
The new Marlborough Road hub features ultra-rapid EV charging facilities in a safe, well-lit, and convenient location, ensuring high operational uptime for drivers on the go, alongside an upgraded valeting and convenience retail offering.
This latest addition brings the total number of MFG sites in Swindon to four, with two within the constituency of Heidi Alexander MP, including the Fleming Way site (SN1 2NG).
The upgraded Marlborough Road site forms part of MFG’s national EV rollout and highlights its focus on blending everyday service offerings that support both local residents and longer-distance travellers.

Martin Symes, EV Director, MFG, commented: “We are clear that whilst more and more of us are switching to EVs, petrol and diesel will remain important for many decades – as such we have a dual fuel strategy that is designed to support the UK economy today, and in the future. We are proud to have now deployed over 1,000 ultra-rapid EV charging bays across the UK – which sees us operate around 12% of the UK ultra-rapid network.”
Heidi Alexander, MP for Swindon South, commented: “I am delighted to officially open Swindon’s latest EV charging facility on Marlborough Road. It was fascinating to hear from the Motor Fuel Group team on Friday about the changing needs of their customers across their multiple sites in my constituency and the investment in EV charging capacity to support more drivers to have the confidence to make the switch. I look forward to their ongoing investment in Swindon and enabling our switch to lower carbon transport.
